"The MMA lifestyle social network and everything else that's cool"

I was born in Birmingham, AL and grew up in Fairhope, AL. Both are in the deep south and are known for their hot weather and beautiful country. Fairhope is a small town of about 5,000 people and it sits right on Mobile Bay. I have always been a beach bum and I can't be away from the water for too long. I started training with my dad when I was young. He was an amateur boxer & wrestler. Ever since I was a little kid I have been fascinated with combat. I have loved boxing, kickboxing, wrestling, & karate since I was in grade school.

I had too move off to train at different places so that I could get the best training possible. I always trained at home, but I always had to teach all the classes so I never got the coaching I needed. I moved to Salt Lake City, UT to train with 6th degree BJJ black belt Pedro Sauer. It was an incredible experience to train with all those black belts every night. Up until that point I had only trained with 1 black belt. Now I was training with 5 every night. After moving back I spent some time living in Biloxi, MS. While living in Biloxi I taught BJJ classes at Remix MMA which is owned by UFC vet Alan "The Talent" Belcher. I also drove over to train with Rich "No Love" Clementi on the weekends. Both are great friends and training partners and we still get ready for our fights together. I moved to Holland to train with Ramon "Diamond" Dekker to improve my kickboxing. While I was living in Holland I started training with the legendary trainer Cor Hemmers who is the founder of the Golden Glory team. Ramon & Cor taught me a ton about all aspects of Thai Boxing. Cor hooked me up to start training with the MMA team and coach Martijn de Jong. Martijn is a great guy and a great coach. I learned a ton about mma from him and he changed the way I approached mma and training for fights. I now am the co-owner of Port City MMA which is a great gym in Mobile, AL. We have a great boxing program with head coach Johnny Smith. Johnny was an undefeated boxer and is the best boxing coach I have ever worked with. We have MMA, boxing, kickboxing, wrestlilng, BJJ, & cardio programs available. One of the biggest changes I have made is that I know have a world class strength and conditioning coach in Lyle Henley. Lyle is a brilliant coach and he also now trains UFC vets Rich Clementi & Kyle Bradley.

I compete professionally in MMA and kickboxing. On two different occasions I have had my pro boxing debut scheduled, but my opponents have backed out both times. Currently I am a purple belt in BJJ under Helio Soneca and I have won many tournaments in BJJ & submission wrestlilng. I also won the amateur US Open San Shou Kickboxing title in 2004 and I have won many matches in toughman boxing. I just love to compete and I do it when ever I can.

I am a graduate of The University of South Alabama. I have degrees in Economics & Biology. I waited until I had a degree until I turned pro because I wanted to have something to fall back on. Hopefully I will never have to get a real job, but just in case I have the paperwork.

If you want to know anything else just ask.

I am fighting at the New Orleans Superdome on January 24. It is going to be a huge show hosted by No Love Entertainment. Rich "No Love" Clementi puts on the best shows on the Gulf Coast and I am excited to be a part of such a huge event. You can check the website out at www.steelcagefighting.com if you are interested.

The new gym is up and running! We are hosting a smoker show on Feb 7 and it should be a lot of fun. Alan Belcher, Rich Clementi, John DIxson, & Danny Ruiz are among some of the coaches bringing their guys to fight. We are also hosting an amateur boxing event on Feb 21. We are very committed to our amateur boxing program and will support it with many upcoming shows.

"jimmy, could you post up your average weekly training schedual, think it would be interesting for alot of the guys on here to see just what a pro actually does. cheers."
You can go to www.portcitymma.com and check the schedule to see the skills training. I also train with a strength & conditioning coach who specializes in training pro & college level athletes. We do all the explosive training lifts as well as insane conditioning work. Flipping tires, hill sprints, stadium & field sprint work. It is pretty insane. When I have a fight coming up I train 6-8 hours a day 5 days a week. Its a pretty brutal schedule.

Man with genitals in pipe

A man who went to casualty with his penis stuck in a steel pipe had to be cut free by firefighters using a metal grinder.
Medics at Southampton General Hospital could not get the man's penis out of the stainless steel pipe because the restricted blood flow had caused it to become aroused, so they called in Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service.
They turned up with a special equipment unit from St Mary's station in Southampton and seven firefighters to help in what a spokesman said was a "delicate operation". The firefighters used the four-and-a-half-inch grinder to cut the pipe from around the man's penis and it took about 30 minutes. The patient was given an anaesthetic and his penis was left bruised and swollen but otherwise unharmed. The anxious man, aged about 40, gave hospital staff no explanation about how the pipe got stuck after he turned up on Tuesday morning. A Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Initially the crew did not have the appropriate cutting equipment to free the man. "It was a very delicate operation that required a very steady hand and the crew was worried about things getting too hot during the cutting. "It's certainly an unusual call-out and I'm sure the man won't be getting into that situation again."
